Supported by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), this fund provides Auckland-based businesses with advice and experts to help shape and implement powerful business plans.

How does the Activate Auckland fund work?
Auckland businesses can apply for up to $7,000 + G.S.T per business. This is divided into two separate funds.
Marketing and Digital Advice, Strategy and Planning: up to $3,000.00
Business advice support comes in the form of experts who can work with you to look at your overall business management and strategy. Support is available for financial planning, cashflow management, marketing strategy, and a digital media plan. We can create the right strategy to help your business get noticed online.
Online Sales and Digital Implementation: up to $4,000.00
The Implementation Grant is available to help your business implement an existing business plan or one you have recently created through the Activate Tāmaki business advice programme. This grant will pay for an expert team who has the tools and expertise to execute your plan.
The Implementation grant recognises that many businesses already have plans ready to go, but don’t necessarily have the finances or staff to go ahead with them. This fund will allow those Auckland businesses to get cracking.

To access the business advice and implementation support, your business must:

- have fewer than 100 full-time equivalent employees
- be G.S.T registered in New Zealand
- have a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN)
- be operating in a commercial environment
- be a privately-owned business or are a Māori Trust or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Māori assets under multiple ownership
- primarily operate within the Auckland boundary
- be an existing business trading prior to 22 October 2021.
How do I apply?
First, you’ll have to register and apply on the Activate Tāmaki Makaurau site. The process is quick and easy to get setup and can be done online. Even better, we can walk you through it.
You will then receive an email stating that your application has been received. Next, you will be scheduled for a call with a business growth advisor. You will be sent a pre-meeting survey asking about your needs and whether you have a preferred service provider, such as Geek Free.
